Oily skin can cause a lot of hassles. Active excessive secretions of sebum from sebaceous glands clog the pores, which may lead to the emergence of pimples and pustular acne. In addition to this the epidermis being shiny and oily and any form of makeup continuously flows. No foundation cream or cosmetic talc can hide this. To improve the condition of the dermis (skin) you have to approach the condition accurately and properly.
Life with Oily Skin
Seborrheic epidermis due to its high content of fat is less subjected to aging as compared to other types of skin. Although this skin type is prone to; inflammation, acne, pimples, black-heads and other skin problems, which can spoil their mood for a long time.
How to live with such a face? Very simple- all that is needed is regular skin care and for it to be done wisely.
1. Always wash your face with cool water i.e. 25-30*c. particularly this temperature decreases the activity of sebaceous glands.
2. Use alcohol-based lotions to clean your face.
3. Every time after washing your face use a toner and then moisturizing cream.
4. Discard spicy, marinated and fatty food from your diet.
5. Avoid exposing your skin (epidermis) from high temperatures.
6. Do not use rough scrubs, for this skin type, light & delicate peels are recommended.
7. Use a mask for oily skin every 3-4 days.
Facial masks are best to be applied in the evening hours. The ingredients of the mask should be prepared from fresh and natural products and used immediately. Before applying the mask clean your face thoroughly and steam it. For steaming you can use a decoction of herbs or wet a soft towel and place it on your face for a few minutes.
Cleaning and Purification
Cleansing masks for oily skin provoke swelling of the stratum corneum (stubborn layer) of the dermis. Excess fat conjugates with the dead cells of the skin and peels off with them. The remaining new skin layer of epidermis is clean, clear and thin, which improves the appearance of the seborrheic dermis. Cleansing mask for greasy skin is required to be applied in thick layers, for about quarter of an hour.
Fermented Milk Mask
Whisk egg white with 12gm of melted honey and 18 ml fermented milk to form froth. For thickness, you can use almond bran or oats. At first, clean your face with kefir, and then apply the foamy mixture. This mask also tones your skin.
Grate finely raw potatoes. Mix the potatoes with egg protein and 12gms of honey. A pinch of salt can also be added. This is a refreshing and soothing mask.
Mix dried orange peel with milk in a blender. Apply the mask for twenty minutes, and then remove it with the help of cotton swabs soaked with warm water and lemon juice.
Crush 15gm flakes of oats in a mixer. Mix the oats with 16ml of vegetable oil and juice of birch leaves, fresh nettle (16ml) and wild strawberries. This mask besides cleaning also helps in reducing wrinkles and cleans pores.
Moisturizing Mask for Oily Skin
Greasy skin also needs adequate moisture. Moisturizing masks for oily skin are more relevant and effective in winter, as in the cold season the epidermis peels off and the skin has a dry appearance. Besides providing a moisturizing effect, these masks improve the skin color, removes pimples and excess glossy shine. This mask should be applied for 15-20 minutes.
Mix pulp of one banana with 18ml melted honey & 5ml of lemon/orange juice. For thickness, oats can be used.
Mix 64ml of aloe pulp or 32ml of aloe gel with 24 gm of honey and 10 ml tea tree oil. This mask helps with getting rid of pimples and can be stored in a cool place for over a month.
Add in 32ml of lager beer 5ml of grapefruit juice and 12gm of honey. 2ml of lavender oil can also be used as a substitute for the juice. The beer mask increases the elasticity of the skin and reduces greasiness.
Mix powdered oat flour in approximately 16 ml of fermented milk. Keep adding the flour till the mixture is reasonably thick, and then add 5ml olive oil to it. Besides moisturizing, the milk mask dries and whitens the skin.
For oily skins lifting masks provide a long stable and durable effect. With the help, the epidermis starts actively producing elastin fibers. Wrinkles are smoothened and the skin becomes young, elastic and firm. Lifting masks for oily skin in home conditions is a complete course of procedures. The whole course may last for one month, with the procedure being implemented twice a week. The time duration for the mask is 25-30 minutes.
Honey & Egg Mask
Mix 24gms of melted honey with 10ml of corn oil and egg yolk. This mask not only lifts your skin but has a moisturizing and toning effect.
Make froth from egg white and mix with deseeded and cleaned pulp of cucumber & 5ml of vegetable or olive oil. You can eliminate pigmented spots from this cucumber-egg white mask.
Clay or Mud
For greasy skin, you can use green, blue, and golden (yellow), white or black cosmetic clay. Mix 50gms of clay with 16m of grape juice and 6ml of oil from ripe wheat. If the mask becomes very thick, add boiled water. This mask has a lifting effect and perfectly smoothes & evens out the face.
Make a paste of dry yeast (15gm), oat flakes (25gms), milk (100ml) and honey (6ml). Apply this paste on your face until it dries. The yeast mask revives the color of epidermis and makes it soft and velvety.
Proper nutrition provides oily epidermis active components, which promotes rejuvenation of skin cells and restores a healthy appearance of the skin. Nutritive masks for greasy skin, if prepared at home are more effective than any other cosmetic cream with a similar effect. Nourishing creams should be applied for half an hour.
Prepare a medicinal paste of; 10ml milk, 12gms of cottage cheese, 32ml of carrot juice and 12ml vegetable oil. Apply the thick paste to face. This facial mask for oily skin will make your skin matte, by giving a gentle shade of tan and nourishing it deeply.
Grate a small sized potato and add to it 8gms of oat flour & a pinch of salt. Potato excellently reduces inflammation of the skin and effectively dries pores.
This mask made from cottage cheese and fermented milk will not only nourish the skin but also smoothen and increases the acid reaction of the skin. Preparation of the mask; mix 1 tablespoon of cottage cheese and kefir and add a pinch of salt. Apply the prepared mask and leave for 15 minutes; then wash your face with warm & then cool water.
Prepare a puree of ripe tomatoes. Mix 40ml of tomato puree with 30 gm of oats flour. A tomato mask perfectly tightens the skin, improves the color of the epidermis and gives a velvety texture to the skin.
The milk obtained from coconut has regenerative properties and it also perfectly brightens the skin.
Mix 1 tablespoon coconut milk + 1 teaspoon lemon juice + oat flakes (for the desired texture).
Clean and steam your face before applying the mask. Twenty minutes later wash your face with warm water, alternating with cold water.
Whisk an egg white and mix with half a teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of aloe. The mask should be applied for 15 minutes and then washed with warm water.
Mask of Clay & Cucumber
This mask is especially effective for removing black spots on the skin. Clean and grate one cucumber; add 1 tablespoon of white clay (kaolin), then mix with the same amount of mineral water so that the paste is consistently thick. Evenly apply the paste on your clean face. Wash with cool water after 15-20 minutes.
This is a refreshing vitamin mask prepared from strawberries and yogurt. Take 4 or 5 ripe strawberries, crush them to form a paste and add 1 tablespoon fresh home-made yogurt. Mix the content properly and apply for 10 minutes. This mask freshens and tones your skin.
Preparation procedure of this mask:
• 2 tablespoons of papaya pulp.
• 2 teaspoons of cosmetic clay.
• 1 teaspoon Aloe-Vera.
Mix the ingredients properly and apply for at least 15 minutes. Wash with warm water. This mask cleans the clogged pores and nourishes your skin.
